[00:00:04] Speaker A: You're listening to Technado. Welcome to another episode of Technado. Reminder that Technado is sponsored by ACI Learning, the folks behind it pro. And you can use that code, Technato 30 for a discount on your it pro membership. I'm Sophie here with Daniel, as usual. And this is a very special episode of Technado. [00:00:21] Speaker B: So that makes me think of, like, eighties sitcoms. [00:00:24] Speaker A: Oh, really? A very special episode. But then it's like a. It's about, like, drinking, driving or something. Yeah, yeah. It's about dare. Yeah, yeah. This is about don't do drugs. This techno is. No, this Technato is don't game while angry. That's what. That's what. That's the message we're pushing. We are going to be. You might have noticed I've got my switch here on the desk, and we have our joy cons. And because I am going to be out of the office for a good portion of this week, this is our answer to that. We want to make sure we have a techno ready to go. And we thought, what better opportunity to do some gaming? [00:00:54] Speaker B: We don't have time to get articles, obviously, because that week has not passed. And even if it had, she wouldn't be here to help me. So we thought, that's true. Let's just have a little fun. Let's put a little fun in the tech NATO, because obviously, usually it's extremely boring and drool. [00:01:10] Speaker A: Of course. Of course. We never have any fun. No laughing or fun here. [00:01:13] Speaker B: We're the fun sponge. [00:01:14] Speaker A: No questionable language. No, of course not. [00:01:15] Speaker B: We show up, we suck up all the sponge, and we deliver it to the nearest receptacle. [00:01:20] Speaker A: We have talked about gaming to a degree, especially more recently on Technado. But, you know, obviously, Daniel and I are from different generations, so the stuff that he grew up playing is going to be different than the stuff that's coming out, you know, when I was growing up, or that's coming out now. So what we're going to do is, I do. I do have some emulators or emulator apps or whatever on my switch, and I've also got some current games. We're gonna play a current game, and then we are gonna dive into the world of. I don't know, we'll maybe do some Sega Genesis games or Super Nintendo games. We'll figure it out as we go. [00:01:47] Speaker B: This ought to be fun. My last console was an Xbox 360, so. [00:01:50] Speaker A: Which is now dead. [00:01:51] Speaker B: Which is now completely dead. [00:01:52] Speaker A: Yes. The store is closed, and it's dead. And you cannot buy any more Xbox 360 games, so. [00:01:56] Speaker B: Bull crap. [00:01:57] Speaker A: On that happy note, if you have been following any of the recent games that have come out over the last few years, you know that Super Mario Bros. Is one of the recent Mario games has come out super fun. You can be an elephant, which is great. And that is gonna be the first game that we play. [00:02:11] Speaker B: I just wanted to be an elephant. [00:02:12] Speaker A: Well, you. [00:02:13] Speaker B: I tried to do it with food. [00:02:15] Speaker A: I was gonna say, I believe in you. I think we can get together. We can get there. [00:02:18] Speaker B: There's an episode of the Simpsons where Homer tried to become the world's fattest man. Yeah, it was pretty funny. [00:02:23] Speaker A: Okay, I don't recall that. That probably aired before my time, but okay, I believe you. [00:02:26] Speaker B: Probably. [00:02:27] Speaker A: Yeah, I believe you. [00:02:28] Speaker B: By her time, she means before she was born. [00:02:30] Speaker A: Yes, exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Simpsons was definitely airing before I was alive. [00:02:34] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:02:34] Speaker A: Which is great. [00:02:35] Speaker B: Came out when I was, like, ten or eleven. [00:02:38] Speaker A: Seriously? [00:02:38] Speaker B: Yes. [00:02:39] Speaker A: I did not realize it's been around that long. [00:02:40] Speaker B: Yeah, it's been on the air for. [00:02:41] Speaker A: A while, and it's still kicking. [00:02:43] Speaker B: I want to say it might be the longest running show. That sounds the longest run animated show. [00:02:50] Speaker A: Do you think? Well, yeah. Cause SVU would have started after that. Or Lawn Order would have started after that. Yeah, lawn's still going. [00:02:56] Speaker B: Trying to think Saturday Night live. Maybe that's true. Saturday Night Live came out in, like, the seventies. [00:03:02] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. So maybe we'll look into that. But this isn't Technido tv edition. This is technical gaming. [00:03:08] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:03:08] Speaker A: So are you ready, games? I it's gonna be filled with wonder. So we do have another monitor in here. So we will be looking at wonder. We'll be looking slightly askew so we can see what we're doing. But you should be able to see in here everything that we do. This is gonna be a good time. [00:03:22] Speaker B: I don't like to make eye contact. [00:03:23] Speaker A: That's understandable. [00:03:25] Speaker B: This is while I'm gaming. [00:03:26] Speaker A: This is the anti social generation, so I don't blame you. We're gonna use my profile. [00:03:30] Speaker B: Look at me. [00:03:31] Speaker A: It has all the levels unlocked, and that'll just make it more fun for us to play. Oh, by the way, so if you're Yoshi or nabbit, you can't use the power ups, but you can eat stuff, and you can't take damage. [00:03:42] Speaker B: Okay, well, I don't want that. [00:03:44] Speaker A: So any of these. [00:03:45] Speaker B: I'm gonna go with Mario's taller, more handsome older brother. [00:03:49] Speaker A: Okay. [00:03:50] Speaker B: Is he the older brother, or is the Mario the elder bro, I I. [00:03:52] Speaker A: Think Mario's the older brother, but Luigi's, like, kind of a scaredy cat, right? So I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. [00:03:59] Speaker B: I don't care. I'm going with it. [00:04:00] Speaker A: I'll be blue toad. [00:04:01] Speaker B: Excellent. [00:04:02] Speaker A: To really just irritate you with the voice. [00:04:05] Speaker B: Oh, is it irritating? [00:04:06] Speaker A: It's. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Like, all the time. It's gonna be great. [00:04:09] Speaker B: How's that different than your normal speaking voice? [00:04:11] Speaker A: Thank you so much. My grandma's gonna comment on this episode. Be like, I like her speaking voice. [00:04:17] Speaker B: Yeah. And you speak so fast. Running fast as you can. What am I doing? [00:04:22] Speaker A: We did elephant. [00:04:23] Speaker B: Not. Not. [00:04:24] Speaker A: Yes. So we did. [00:04:25] Speaker B: Okay, because we pregame, we pre game. Everything works. [00:04:28] Speaker A: Make sure the system was working and everything was connected. Let's do this level. It's a little difficulty. It'll be fun, but I really think you're gonna enjoy. [00:04:35] Speaker B: Can we go to the hardest level you have? [00:04:37] Speaker A: We can. [00:04:37] Speaker B: Okay, we'll play this one, and we'll. [00:04:39] Speaker A: Okay, yeah, yeah. We'll go to the final. The final level. [00:04:42] Speaker B: Speedrun this bullcrap. And then. [00:04:43] Speaker A: So we are elephants. [00:04:44] Speaker B: Okay, so there's jump. [00:04:46] Speaker A: There's jump. [00:04:47] Speaker B: And I have an elephant trunk that does crazy things. [00:04:50] Speaker A: Not anymore. [00:04:50] Speaker B: Okay, now I have fireballs of Dune. [00:04:52] Speaker A: You can jump on the music note blocks. And so for those of you don't, if you're not familiar, that turret just. [00:05:01] Speaker B: Jumped out of his. [00:05:03] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, the prana plans come out of the pipes. [00:05:05] Speaker B: Yeah, that's a. [00:05:06] Speaker A: That's not a mechanic you're familiar with. Oh, okay. Yeah, they do. [00:05:09] Speaker B: I have any other maneuver than jump. [00:05:10] Speaker A: At this point, if you don't have a power up, then. [00:05:13] Speaker B: No, I'm screw wee. [00:05:17] Speaker A: There you go. There'll be more power ups. It'll be fine. There you go. [00:05:20] Speaker B: See? Yeah. Die on fire. A literal fire that I'm creating. I don't know if it's my hands or my mouth. [00:05:28] Speaker A: Oh, okay. This is where it gets fun. You're gonna enjoy this. [00:05:31] Speaker B: What the hell? Okay. [00:05:39] Speaker A: They are gonna start walking. I'm just letting. [00:05:41] Speaker B: What are we waiting for? What's happened? [00:05:43] Speaker A: Waiting for it to start scrolling. Oh, and they sing, but when you shoot them, they stop. [00:05:47] Speaker B: I'm screwed. [00:05:50] Speaker A: You know, if you die, you die. [00:05:52] Speaker B: If he dies, he dies. It's from Maki four. [00:05:57] Speaker A: Is it really? [00:05:57] Speaker B: Yeah. I don't know what any of this does. Apparently, jumping like a. Like a person that has no mind is not a good strategy. [00:06:09] Speaker A: This is not the way to go. [00:06:10] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:06:11] Speaker A: Oh, okay. So use your joystick to move to me. Come here and I will. There you go. [00:06:15] Speaker B: Okay, so I did play, like, gamecube. [00:06:19] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:06:20] Speaker B: And this is very similar to, like, super Mario advance. [00:06:23] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:06:23] Speaker B: Whatever. It was like. What's the name of that game where you had to stick with each other and if you got killed? [00:06:31] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:06:32] Speaker B: You were kind of floating around in the sky and your partner had to. [00:06:34] Speaker A: Come in like, I know this. I know the Wii U definitely had that mechanic. But anything before super. The new Super Mario Bros. On the ds. I wasn't super familiar with that. [00:06:45] Speaker B: That's what it's called. The new super Mario brothers. [00:06:47] Speaker A: Okay. Okay. [00:06:48] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:06:49] Speaker A: Yeah. That makes sense. You have to kind of stay together. [00:06:50] Speaker B: Yes. You have to stay together. [00:06:54] Speaker A: We beat that level. [00:06:55] Speaker B: Okay, perfect. [00:06:55] Speaker A: Now that's like loading. [00:06:57] Speaker B: Make up the difficulty. [00:06:58] Speaker A: Okay. You want to go extreme. [00:06:59] Speaker B: I want to be like. I want to be enraged that it's impossible to. [00:07:03] Speaker A: Okay, well, then what we'll do. We'll go here. We'll go through to. Let's see. Oh, I guess it would be the magma, maybe. Yeah. I haven't played this in a while. [00:07:15] Speaker B: That makes sense. [00:07:15] Speaker A: There is a. There is definitely a. How do I get to Bowser's world? Oh, you know what? I think I have to go to. We don't have to go there. We'll just. [00:07:29] Speaker B: I like how there's not a specific level in your brain that's like this. Some bitch was hard. [00:07:34] Speaker A: No, I mean, there are a lot of them because there's so many levels and I haven't played. Okay, there we go. There's some. This one's super difficult. Four star difficulty. [00:07:44] Speaker B: Sweet. [00:07:45] Speaker A: You can have a great time. [00:07:46] Speaker B: I can't wait to die. [00:07:49] Speaker A: I don't remember. [00:07:50] Speaker B: What basically this is gonna be is you having to, like, continually bring me back. It's a new difficulty unlocked. [00:07:58] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. So what I'm gonna do is there's. This game has, like, badge mechanics. [00:08:03] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness. You can play the damn game already. [00:08:06] Speaker A: I'm trying to help you out. [00:08:07] Speaker B: I don't want to be helped. I just want to die. [00:08:10] Speaker A: Damn. There's people we can call for that. [00:08:12] Speaker B: There's a number on the back of. [00:08:13] Speaker A: The game if you are a loved. [00:08:16] Speaker B: One struggling with mesothelioma. If you see my suit here was made of asbestos. [00:08:24] Speaker A: All right, there you go. You take it. You can. You need it more than I do. [00:08:28] Speaker B: All right, bubbles. [00:08:32] Speaker A: There you go. [00:08:34] Speaker B: Right. It's just that. What is with the flotation devices? [00:08:43] Speaker A: We're like, 2 seconds in we. And we are already struggling. [00:08:47] Speaker B: And I'm dead again. [00:08:49] Speaker A: It's okay. We'll save you. Oh, geez. [00:08:51] Speaker B: Will you? [00:08:52] Speaker A: I'm gonna try. I'm doing my best. Oh, shoot. I gotta censor myself. [00:08:57] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Okay, so. Yeah, that was difficult. [00:09:01] Speaker A: Get rid of that. [00:09:02] Speaker B: All right. [00:09:03] Speaker A: This badge. [00:09:04] Speaker B: Did you make me float? Was that something? [00:09:06] Speaker A: No, that's the floating high jump. So that when you jump, you don't fall down as quickly. [00:09:09] Speaker B: Oh. [00:09:10] Speaker A: And so since this is a level with a lot of. [00:09:12] Speaker B: So, ladies and gentlemen, another little difficulty that we've kind of, through no fault of our own, get to enjoy is there's a bit of a lag between slightly the screen and what we do. So floating might have helped. What? [00:09:33] Speaker A: I probably should have explained it to you. That's my bad. [00:09:35] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:09:36] Speaker A: I didn't warn you that that was a mechanic I added. So I'm doing my best. I'm doing my best. I'm like, damn it. All right, all right. Let me get to. [00:09:48] Speaker B: I'm here. [00:09:49] Speaker A: There you go. [00:09:52] Speaker B: I'm doing. Now she's the lag. See, that's kind of stuff where lag gets you. [00:09:56] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:09:56] Speaker B: Where I landed and hit the jump. [00:10:00] Speaker A: Button, but it didn't register. Yeah. Okay. I don't know what that did. I have not played this. These levels in a while. [00:10:08] Speaker B: I know. [00:10:09] Speaker A: Nice. Okay. [00:10:11] Speaker B: I'm gonna shishkabom Shaw sink redemption. [00:10:16] Speaker A: All right. If you get the flag, you'll get. There you go. [00:10:19] Speaker B: Now you get. Whatever. [00:10:21] Speaker A: Well, you're here. There's enough for both of us. It's enough to go around. [00:10:25] Speaker B: So that's a new feature that you get to. That you get to. Yeah, because, you know, old school Mario, I think, used to kind of, like, fight each other over. Over who got the power up, who got what. And then it really would suck when. Oh, you're gone now. Where are you? [00:10:44] Speaker A: I'm coming, I'm coming. There we go. [00:10:46] Speaker B: Because if you hit the power up and you're, you know, teammate. [00:10:51] Speaker A: Uh oh, your teammate steals it. [00:10:53] Speaker B: Yeah. And sometimes that would happen by accident. Where am I? Oh, there I am. [00:10:57] Speaker A: Come up here. [00:10:58] Speaker B: I'm green like the stuff. So I couldn't see me. Yeah. [00:11:02] Speaker A: All right, we're. [00:11:03] Speaker B: I'll just reappear. [00:11:04] Speaker A: We'll get there. We'll go there. Why. Why are you jumping? You gotta move. [00:11:08] Speaker B: Because I thought the screen would go with me. [00:11:10] Speaker A: No, this is. You gotta move with the wheel to get across. [00:11:12] Speaker B: Oh, that's dumb. [00:11:14] Speaker A: It's dumb because you don't like it. Aw. [00:11:17] Speaker B: We both are dead, but we got. [00:11:19] Speaker A: The checkpoint, so we're good. [00:11:20] Speaker B: Okay. So we get to go. [00:11:21] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. [00:11:21] Speaker B: All right. [00:11:21] Speaker A: We don't have to go from the very beginning, which is nice. It's still gonna be. [00:11:24] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Checkpoints are sweet. [00:11:27] Speaker A: There you go. There you go. See? It's fine. Yeah, I think that has been around since. [00:11:33] Speaker B: Ah, stupid luigi. [00:11:35] Speaker A: Nice picking stuff. Don't blame Luigi. [00:11:40] Speaker B: Can't touch them. Okay. [00:11:41] Speaker A: No, yeah, yeah, that's. You have to use the pots to extinguish them. [00:11:45] Speaker B: I like how we always are kind of like jumping at each other. [00:11:49] Speaker A: That's intentional. I want you to die. So that's. Aw. [00:11:54] Speaker B: Okay. I'm gonna stop screwing around. [00:11:56] Speaker A: Yeah, this is. This is. You just gotta move with the wheel, which is hard because there's a big gap in it. I think that having two power ups has. I think they done. I I think they implemented that in super Mario brothers Wii, maybe. Okay, I could be wrong. All right, we're good. Okay, do it now. [00:12:19] Speaker B: See, once I actually like. [00:12:21] Speaker A: You. Just got to get the hang of it. [00:12:23] Speaker B: Well, plus, I'm kind of, like, flying. I don't know what that is. Okay. It's nothing. Come on. [00:12:32] Speaker A: It's like you want me to fail. Oh, if you press y. I think you can sprint. [00:12:37] Speaker B: Yeah, I. [00:12:37] Speaker A: Okay. You figured that out. Okay. [00:12:40] Speaker B: Hey. [00:12:45] Speaker A: We did. [00:12:45] Speaker B: It's not over. [00:12:46] Speaker A: Okay, so we get a power up. Well, all right. If you press and hold. If you press and hold a, there will be a little bubble that appears above your head, and that'll give you our stored power up of the fire flower. So there you go. Now you've got something. Not to handicap you, but I feel like you might need it, because since this is a castle level, we're gonna have to do some fighting here. [00:13:09] Speaker B: Fight? We will. He's tired of playing, tired of playing with us. [00:13:13] Speaker A: His daddy is gonna take your ball. [00:13:15] Speaker B: And go home then, son. Keep it here. Oh. [00:13:19] Speaker A: All right. So don't jump on his shell, cuz he's got spikes. [00:13:22] Speaker B: Okay. He is trying to make it to where? That's exactly what I do. [00:13:25] Speaker A: Once he. Okay, so once he's out of his shell, we should be able to jump on his head. There you go. [00:13:31] Speaker B: I don't really like him. [00:13:32] Speaker A: No. Yeah, he's totally back. [00:13:37] Speaker B: This is new. [00:13:39] Speaker A: So he's got the magic. Yes. This. This scary. That is a little scary. Oh, these guys move. So if you step to one side or the other, those platforms move that you're standing on. I don't know where he went, though. He's. [00:13:52] Speaker B: She. Okay, this is where you go. [00:13:56] Speaker A: Oh, he's in the corner. [00:13:58] Speaker B: Mustard. I'm just kind of staying alive up here for you. [00:14:03] Speaker A: Where is he, though? [00:14:04] Speaker B: He's down. [00:14:06] Speaker A: Oh, there we go. [00:14:06] Speaker B: Found him. [00:14:08] Speaker A: He blends in, this. Yeah. [00:14:14] Speaker B: It's triple dog there. Okay. [00:14:16] Speaker A: Yeah, but. Okay, so the other ones are, like, imaginary. So aim for the colorful shell when you jump on them, because anything. [00:14:23] Speaker B: I'm not supposed to jump on the shelves. [00:14:25] Speaker A: Well, I guess I just mean when you. [00:14:26] Speaker B: Ah, come on. He jumped under my feet. [00:14:30] Speaker A: That's because he loves you. He wants you. [00:14:32] Speaker B: That's what was supposed to happen, is when you jump under my feet. My feet stomp your guts. [00:14:38] Speaker A: These newfangled Mario games. [00:14:40] Speaker B: I swear, these kids nowadays. Back in 90, we played Mario. We did it in the snow. [00:14:46] Speaker A: Aw, must. Yeah. Back in my day, when we jumped on a shell. Yeah, it killed the enemy. [00:14:53] Speaker B: No, that was so when they were all shelled up, you could, like. You could jump on them, but it wouldn't hurt you. [00:15:02] Speaker A: They're like standard koopas. Yeah, yeah. It's timing. There you go. I don't know how this is gonna help bubbles, because I don't know what the bubbles do against Bowser Junior, but I guess we'll find out. [00:15:17] Speaker B: They make him docile and agreeable. There's nothing. [00:15:23] Speaker A: They do not do anything to him. Okay. In that. In that form, maybe when he. [00:15:28] Speaker B: Well, you can bounce on the bubbles. [00:15:29] Speaker A: Oh, that's helpful. [00:15:31] Speaker B: So if you jump on the bubble. All right. So you stay on one side, I'll stay on the other. That way, he can't, like. [00:15:37] Speaker A: Okay, this is the strategy. Okay. [00:15:39] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're Lord of the dark arts. [00:15:44] Speaker A: We get it. This for me? Oh, shoot. This for me is a difficult game. So I can't wait to see how I fare with some of the older games. I don't think I'm gonna do very well. Thank you for that. [00:16:03] Speaker B: I don't really like this guy. He angers me with his anger. [00:16:08] Speaker A: I'm probably gonna die. So I'm just. I'm just letting you know. There we go. [00:16:13] Speaker B: Still bubbled up, though, so that's good. [00:16:16] Speaker A: That's good for show. [00:16:17] Speaker B: No, not that it's really doing much for us, but, hey, I'm acting as a diversion. That's my. My shtick. Get away from me. [00:16:27] Speaker A: Aw. [00:16:30] Speaker B: He'S coming for me. Come here. You got shot again. [00:16:34] Speaker A: Keep moving. [00:16:35] Speaker B: You got. You keep getting killed. [00:16:37] Speaker A: Got him. I think that's it. [00:16:40] Speaker B: Yeah, he's farted or something. What was that? [00:16:45] Speaker A: That was the dark magic leaving his body. [00:16:47] Speaker B: You know, Taco Bell, just very demonic in nature. Yeah, there's ours. Our dare reference. Just say no to Taco Bell. I'm not lie, though, man. Those cheesy Gordita crunches, they do slap. [00:16:59] Speaker A: I. [00:16:59] Speaker B: You know, they're bangers. [00:17:01] Speaker A: For a long time, I've been wanting to try a crunchwrap. Cause I hear really good things about it, and it looks really good, so hold on. [00:17:08] Speaker B: Oh, no, not the normal crunchwraps. [00:17:11] Speaker A: It's gotta be the supreme. [00:17:12] Speaker B: No, it's gotta be the breakfast crunchwrap. [00:17:15] Speaker A: It's got, like, hash browns or something in it. [00:17:16] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:17] Speaker A: Okay. [00:17:18] Speaker B: The breakfast crunch wrap will have you going. All other breakfast is stupid. [00:17:24] Speaker A: Okay? [00:17:25] Speaker B: I used to double fist breakfast crunch wraps, steak with steak. Breakfast crunchwrap. Anybody wants to send me a gift card for a breakfast crunchwrap, I will not say no. [00:17:34] Speaker A: You can get, like, different meat in it. [00:17:35] Speaker B: So you can get sausage, you can get bacon, and you can get steak. [00:17:39] Speaker A: Ooh. Bacon will be good. [00:17:40] Speaker B: That's what. That's what my wife gets. She loves the bacon one. But I'm like, screw that, man. Steak is steak. You never say no to steak. Now bacon is good. Get me wrong. You know what? I've never tried getting steak. [00:17:51] Speaker A: Can you do both? [00:17:52] Speaker B: I don't, man. Why not? [00:17:53] Speaker A: That's true. What are they gonna do? [00:17:54] Speaker B: I don't care what it costs. [00:17:57] Speaker A: I highly doubt a taco employee is going to argue with you. [00:17:59] Speaker B: Price is no object. Listen, I'll slip you a five spot. [00:18:01] Speaker A: Yeah. Correctly. [00:18:03] Speaker B: You just slap some bacon and make it nice. You know what I'm saying? Make it nice. [00:18:08] Speaker A: Off to try it. Christian says you get what in a burrito? Chicken and beef. [00:18:16] Speaker B: Yeah, they can hook you up. [00:18:17] Speaker A: Okay, well, that was a little look at Mario wonder. How did you enjoy that? [00:18:22] Speaker B: That was good. I think it was a very good step forward in the Mario platforming game. There's a lot of fun, a lot of interesting new things about it. The power ups and everything. And the gameplay, they continue to evolve it make it a more interesting. Not that it's still not interesting to go back and play, of course. [00:18:41] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:18:42] Speaker B: But, you know, I would definitely be more happy to play without the lag. The lag makes this. I can only imagine that a retro game is going to be nigh impossible. [00:18:55] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [00:18:56] Speaker B: Which might make it more fun. Let's do that. [00:18:59] Speaker A: So. Okay, so are you thinking Genesis, or are you thinking Super Nintendo game Boy? [00:19:03] Speaker B: You know, we just played some Nintendo. Let's go. Genesis. [00:19:06] Speaker A: Genesis. [00:19:06] Speaker B: Let's do Genesis. [00:19:07] Speaker A: Change it up a little bit. Genesis. Yeah, that's right. Ot Genesis. Okay. And they give us a little sound. [00:19:14] Speaker B: Oh, that brings back the warm and fuzzies. [00:19:16] Speaker A: I'm sure it does. I wasn't around for that. My mom used to, I think, be a salesperson for them, or she used to sell. Is she really Sega Gen? I think so, yeah. [00:19:24] Speaker B: Your mom worked for Sega of America or whatever. [00:19:27] Speaker A: She sold the systems, but I don't remember in what contest she worked at, like, a. I remember her talking about it, and I didn't think Circuit city or something. Maybe not. She didn't work at Circuit City, but I don't. Not there's anything wrong with working at Circus City. [00:19:38] Speaker B: I thought that Circuit city might have been a reference that was lost on you. [00:19:41] Speaker A: No, we had one in my hometown, but by the time it was still in, like, it was still around. Yeah, but it was dilapidated. It was like nobody went to Circus City. And then eventually we drove by one day and it was just gone. Yeah. So, rest in peace. [00:19:54] Speaker B: The Gainesville circuit City is right across the street, which is now. Whatever. College. [00:19:59] Speaker A: Oh, Santa Fe. [00:20:00] Speaker B: No, it's not Santa Fe. Right. It's. It's like a. Like an online college or something, like. [00:20:04] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [00:20:05] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:20:05] Speaker A: I didn't know that there used to be one around here. [00:20:07] Speaker B: We had everything. [00:20:10] Speaker A: Gainesville used to be a kingdom. [00:20:11] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:20:12] Speaker A: It's now. [00:20:12] Speaker B: Go to the mall analysis. You have health. [00:20:14] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:20:15] Speaker B: Right. [00:20:15] Speaker A: It's kind of sad. [00:20:16] Speaker B: It is. It's really sad. [00:20:17] Speaker A: Yeah. Rest in peace. Well, on that happy note, we have a lovely selection of games. [00:20:22] Speaker B: That's grass, people. [00:20:24] Speaker A: What's, uh. What looks good to you, Daniel, since you are. You know this stuff better than I do. [00:20:29] Speaker B: I mean, you've got it on ghosts and ghouls or ghouls and ghosts. I always call it ghosts and ghouls. If you. If you just want to have an exercise in futility, uh, ghouls and ghosts will. [00:20:40] Speaker A: Okay. [00:20:41] Speaker B: Will serve your purpose. [00:20:42] Speaker A: Let's give it a go, because this. [00:20:44] Speaker B: Game is nigh impossible. [00:20:46] Speaker A: I wonder if. I wonder if it'll let you use your joy cons now. Yeah, some of these emulated games, it won't. Like, when you try to do two player, it'll just. It'll be like, you have to swap controllers back and forth. So we'll see what happens. [00:21:01] Speaker B: Like, you have one player plugged in in a console. Yeah, that's. [00:21:05] Speaker A: Which, I guess makes sense. [00:21:06] Speaker B: All right, so you're a little jumping guy. He's a knighthood. His wife has been killed or something. [00:21:12] Speaker A: Don't jump on them. [00:21:13] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. You can't touch the bad guys. [00:21:15] Speaker A: Okay. Evidently, like. [00:21:16] Speaker B: Okay, round two. Okay, this is player two. Ready? But I guess. Whatever. [00:21:22] Speaker A: Okay, so do you know unlimited? [00:21:24] Speaker B: Just. Just go. [00:21:25] Speaker A: All right. This is just entertaining. [00:21:28] Speaker B: Yeah. This is more. [00:21:28] Speaker A: Enter, watch me fail. [00:21:29] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:21:30] Speaker A: Okay. I can't jump very high. This is the only. [00:21:32] Speaker B: Obviously, he goes into streak mode. [00:21:33] Speaker A: What is that? Oh, shoot. [00:21:35] Speaker B: And you are done again. I like how you've made it all of 10ft. [00:21:39] Speaker A: So they do come out of the ground. [00:21:40] Speaker B: They come out of the ground. They pop up. [00:21:43] Speaker A: All right. And I like how they give you. [00:21:46] Speaker B: The rewind function here so that you can stay not dead. [00:21:50] Speaker A: I could do that. Yeah. I was doing that quite a bit when I was playing Super Mario or superstar saga because I would, like, lose in one of the turn based things and I would get frustrated because I would just keep dying and it would send me back. [00:22:02] Speaker B: You've made it farther. They want you dead. He'll kill you, too. Yeah. Everything kills you. [00:22:08] Speaker A: Is it David Blaine? Who was it that came out of the chest? [00:22:12] Speaker B: Do you want to see a magic trick? Not really, no. I mean, your tricks are awesome. You are a freak. And if someone walks up to me in a park and says, do I see a magic trick? It very is possible that my gun is coming out. [00:22:30] Speaker A: Did you ever see the videos where it was like, it was supposed to be like, david Blaine, but he was, like, making high c appear in the guy's mouth? [00:22:37] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember those. [00:22:40] Speaker A: Yeah, those were good. [00:22:40] Speaker B: Something. Some early YouTube stuff. Yeah, yeah, they were very. [00:22:43] Speaker A: Those were fun. Those are good. [00:22:44] Speaker B: He always, like, stared at the camera. [00:22:46] Speaker A: Like, he's literally making high c come out of his mouth. He's literally. Maybe. [00:22:53] Speaker B: It was like these two gay guys and they were like, oh, my goodness. [00:22:56] Speaker A: Just trying to find their business? [00:22:57] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:22:58] Speaker A: Okay, so. [00:22:59] Speaker B: What the f? [00:22:59] Speaker A: What the actual f? [00:23:01] Speaker B: Yes. It was so funny. [00:23:04] Speaker A: So should I leave the treasure chest alone? Like, if I. [00:23:07] Speaker B: Yes. [00:23:07] Speaker A: Okay. [00:23:07] Speaker B: Losing treasure chest alone because inside is a devil. [00:23:10] Speaker A: What the hell? Did he just. [00:23:12] Speaker B: Yeah, he just got a proctological exam from a big demon bird. [00:23:15] Speaker A: Awesome. Okay. All right, so. [00:23:19] Speaker B: Oh, let's see if I do any better. [00:23:21] Speaker A: How you fare. [00:23:22] Speaker B: Only both. Right. [00:23:23] Speaker A: It's having me use it both. [00:23:24] Speaker B: Okay. [00:23:25] Speaker A: Yeah. So if that's a handicap. [00:23:27] Speaker B: Okay, let's see what we got here. [00:23:31] Speaker A: I'm sure the people watching are just loved watching me make it all of feet into this level. [00:23:38] Speaker B: The buttons are like backwards to me. [00:23:41] Speaker A: Oh, okay. You just get that took care of criss angel. [00:23:45] Speaker B: The buttons are backwards. There we go. Shoot this stupid backward button. Shit is really. You got a lot further. I want this to be attack and this to be jump. Oh, okay. [00:24:07] Speaker A: Well, just. Yeah, just press the plus button. There you go. [00:24:10] Speaker B: There we go. Try that again. [00:24:11] Speaker A: Yeah, just keep going. So it's. This whole thing is the. [00:24:13] Speaker B: Is the map. Yes. [00:24:15] Speaker A: That's just for this. [00:24:16] Speaker B: Guess how far we've gotten. [00:24:18] Speaker A: 2Ft. [00:24:19] Speaker B: Yep. That is. That's supposed to be jump inch. It's not stupid. [00:24:26] Speaker A: Huh? [00:24:26] Speaker B: Hold on, hold on. I got an idea. [00:24:28] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:24:29] Speaker B: Turn the two icon upside down. Oh, that's actually working much better. [00:24:33] Speaker A: Huh. All right. [00:24:36] Speaker B: Oh, that's. That's kind of messed up, huh? So in the actual game. Damn. You like the arcade version of this? Like, back in the arcade days? [00:24:47] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:48] Speaker B: You could move and shoot at the same time. Oh, this is not really letting you do that. [00:24:52] Speaker A: Interesting. [00:24:53] Speaker B: Yes. Right? So, like, I'm moving, but he's not moving. [00:24:58] Speaker A: Huh? [00:24:58] Speaker B: He should. [00:24:59] Speaker A: Interesting. [00:25:00] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:00] Speaker A: So one thing at a time. I want you. [00:25:02] Speaker B: It's really, like, ramped up the difficulty. [00:25:06] Speaker A: Well, they gotta add. [00:25:07] Speaker B: We've got shit don't work right now. They gotta add something down. [00:25:10] Speaker A: They gotta make it. Oh, no, I don't want you new for the kids. [00:25:13] Speaker B: Come on, man. [00:25:15] Speaker A: Yes. [00:25:15] Speaker B: Get out of my way. Jump. Thank you. [00:25:17] Speaker A: I like that. It's just like frail little skeletors. I guess they're, what, grim reapers? But that look. That looks like skeletors. [00:25:24] Speaker B: Out of the way. Oh, yeah. These are fun. This is gonna be an interesting. [00:25:30] Speaker A: So this game takes place during the French Revolution, right? Oh, so liberty and fraternity shit. Jeez. [00:25:42] Speaker B: Layer one riddle. [00:25:43] Speaker A: Dang. Yeah, we've made it. Like, I made it farther, right? You made it a lot farther than I did. [00:25:52] Speaker B: Yeah, it's nuts nicer when you can run and shoot at the same time. So I'm having to, like. [00:25:58] Speaker A: They gotta level the playing field somehow, pick my battles between you and I, because I don't, like. I don't have that habit in place of, like, thinking that certain buttons do certain stuff. Cause I've never played this before. [00:26:10] Speaker B: Yeah, there's. There's nothing to get used to. [00:26:12] Speaker A: Yeah. So that sucks for you. [00:26:15] Speaker B: It does. [00:26:16] Speaker A: I'm really sorry about that. [00:26:17] Speaker B: It's okay. It's just adjustments that we all make in life. [00:26:22] Speaker A: Oh, dang. [00:26:22] Speaker B: That was a good. Go. Go. [00:26:26] Speaker A: All right. All right. [00:26:27] Speaker B: Oh, bro. [00:26:28] Speaker A: Hey, you're getting there. I believe in you. [00:26:31] Speaker B: Last one. Go. Yes. [00:26:34] Speaker A: Make it nice. [00:26:35] Speaker B: Aha. This is some bullshit. This is like these little whirlwinds that come. [00:26:40] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:26:40] Speaker B: And you die. [00:26:41] Speaker A: And there's no, like, checkpoints, so it's like if you die, you're back. [00:26:44] Speaker B: I'm. That might have made it to, like, another part of the map. [00:26:47] Speaker A: Oh. [00:26:47] Speaker B: But this says player two ready, so that was player one. [00:26:50] Speaker A: Dang. [00:26:52] Speaker B: So I might be able to. I like how you get to keep your weapon, though. [00:26:57] Speaker A: So you usually in the. In the original, would you lose it if you got hit? [00:27:02] Speaker B: I don't remember. I want to say yes. I like, this is a brave new world for me. Ass kicking. [00:27:16] Speaker A: I wish he made the. [00:27:17] Speaker B: Oh. What? [00:27:20] Speaker A: I wish he made the noises like link, but I make do without him. [00:27:23] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. Kiss it. You all die. You all touch the stupid guillotine again. I always hit that dumb guillotine. All right. I thought I might be at the whirlwind section. [00:27:37] Speaker A: Yes, nice. [00:27:38] Speaker B: Yes. And I'm all geared up. Okay. Oh, so the wind is also blowing you. I'm sure it was a. Yeah, I get you. The devil wins. Come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on, come on. Ha ha. Oh, so it's sticky. Fire almost killed me. I run, run, son. I'm just running for all that is holy. I was at the end of the map too. I had to go up. I was like, game over. Fires keep popping out under my butt. All right, that was fun. That was fun. [00:28:17] Speaker A: That was fun. [00:28:18] Speaker B: Like I said, exercise and futility. [00:28:20] Speaker A: You want to change course a little bit? [00:28:21] Speaker B: Yeah, let's do something else. [00:28:22] Speaker A: All right, let's see. Let me go back to game selection here. Oh, no, come on. You can tell I totally do this a lot. Let's see. We got land stalker, revenge of Shinobi, Flicky. I don't know what that is. I don't know. Most of these games. [00:28:38] Speaker B: Flicky. Roll the dice, I guess. [00:28:40] Speaker A: Roll dice. All right, I'm gonna close my eyes. [00:28:48] Speaker B: Here we go. That a game I've never played. Oh, Strider, I think I was. [00:28:52] Speaker A: That puts us on even ground then. Cuz I've never. Oh, look like Palpatine. [00:28:56] Speaker B: Yeah. I've never played this game. Sure. Strike strider. Yeah. [00:29:00] Speaker A: Strider striker. [00:29:01] Speaker B: It is an odd grass. That font was a poor choice. Oh, okay, you got some. Okay, some badass kicks and the Taj maha. [00:29:12] Speaker A: I'm pressing the start button. [00:29:13] Speaker B: There we go again. And you'll like it. [00:29:15] Speaker A: Okay, so this might be one player. [00:29:17] Speaker B: So we'll have to trade off. He's got the demonic a hole in the earth, and it's a. What's the whole world in his hands? [00:29:23] Speaker A: Is that Russian? It does look rushing, like cyrillic Alphabet, huh? Maybe that's why the font was weird. [00:29:29] Speaker B: He's from the eastern block. [00:29:30] Speaker A: All right, so. Okay, so that's to hit things. Is the b button. Okay? All right. I don't like that noise. That's. [00:29:39] Speaker B: You don't like the noise? [00:29:40] Speaker A: Don't like that I go to sleep dog whistle sound effect. [00:29:49] Speaker B: There's, like, a ten dogs outside the building right now. Just. [00:29:52] Speaker A: I wonder if it's supposed to sound like that or if that's just the way we have the sound configured, that it's. Sounds a little odd. [00:29:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:29:57] Speaker A: All right, so b is to punch y jumps, x and a. Okay. A jumps. Do any of these buttons do anything? Okay. Crouch. I just want to get a handle, get my bearings here. All right, so it's literally just. [00:30:10] Speaker B: Just a platformer. Yeah. [00:30:11] Speaker A: I should know if there was any other buttons to like. [00:30:14] Speaker B: Well, there's only. On the genesis, there was only three buttons. [00:30:16] Speaker A: Oh, really? [00:30:17] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:17] Speaker A: I didn't know that. I've never. [00:30:19] Speaker B: Three emulated buttons. Some way, shape, or form. [00:30:21] Speaker A: That makes sense. The B button's definitely one of them. I like that he's walking like he talks it. Oh, shoot. [00:30:27] Speaker B: Nice. I thought you were done. [00:30:30] Speaker A: I did not do that on purpose. That was. That was completely accidental. All right, incline hiker. [00:30:35] Speaker B: You're doing all right. You're doing all right. I don't know if that's an enemy or a good thing. Yeah. [00:30:39] Speaker A: Uh oh. All right. [00:30:40] Speaker B: Like, good for you. That is nothing. [00:30:44] Speaker A: Yeah, laugh it up, Christian. Laugh it up like I brought you. [00:30:49] Speaker B: A gift of death, mer, and more dead. [00:30:53] Speaker A: Oh. All right. [00:30:54] Speaker B: You can grab your power up. [00:30:55] Speaker A: Oh, I can climb the walls. Power up? What? Power up? [00:30:58] Speaker B: Yeah, it's gone. Just go. [00:31:02] Speaker A: Mer and Dur myrrh and awesome. All right. [00:31:06] Speaker B: I like these little jumpy guys. [00:31:08] Speaker A: Mustard. [00:31:08] Speaker B: They are coming to kill you. [00:31:10] Speaker A: All right. I did not do a very good job. You want to give it a try? [00:31:13] Speaker B: Yeah, give it a whirl. Leave it a whirl. All right. [00:31:14] Speaker A: All right. Let's see. [00:31:16] Speaker B: Let's see how we do. Yeah, continue play, man. Bring me the good stuff. [00:31:22] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. I don't know. You might have to flip the joy con, I guess, if you're. If you're not liking the button arrangement. What is that? [00:31:30] Speaker B: I have no clue. I don't know what to do here. [00:31:34] Speaker A: Okay. So you can. You can only climb certain walls, I guess. I don't. [00:31:42] Speaker B: These are good things, right? [00:31:43] Speaker A: Yeah, apparently. Oh, maybe they. Oh, yeah. [00:31:46] Speaker B: It goes ahead of you in murdering. [00:31:47] Speaker A: That's not. [00:31:49] Speaker B: Oh. Almost got a little ahead of myself there. [00:31:51] Speaker A: That guillotine's gonna get you every time. [00:31:53] Speaker B: Whoa. All right, son. Let's go, bruh. Let's go, bruh. [00:31:58] Speaker A: He's your buddy. [00:31:59] Speaker B: Is that not jump? Okay. [00:32:01] Speaker A: Jump is. [00:32:02] Speaker B: Oh, he looks fun. [00:32:04] Speaker A: I think there's two buttons to jump. [00:32:05] Speaker B: I think he's like, I'm all roided out. I'm on a raid. [00:32:09] Speaker A: He's on PCP. [00:32:10] Speaker B: All right, so apparently the strategy is just, you can't touch him. [00:32:15] Speaker A: Like MC Hammer. [00:32:17] Speaker B: Oh, k, bro, do you ever get in a position where I can hit you? [00:32:22] Speaker A: You're fighting Ric flair. [00:32:23] Speaker B: Oh, I got him. Okay. Whoa. I don't like that. [00:32:27] Speaker A: All right. [00:32:28] Speaker B: A platform that. Who the hell designed this game? What drugs did they take? What. What kind of. What russian drugs would lead to this crocodile? I mean, what the. [00:32:40] Speaker A: Huh? [00:32:41] Speaker B: Yeah, it's a real thing. [00:32:42] Speaker A: Ah, I've never heard of that. [00:32:43] Speaker B: And it was super popular in Russia for a while. [00:32:45] Speaker A: Yeah, sounds like. [00:32:46] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:32:47] Speaker A: Sounds like a novelty pickle. [00:32:49] Speaker B: Stay here and not get killed. [00:32:50] Speaker A: Oh, smart. [00:32:51] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. Here comes. [00:32:55] Speaker A: Huh? [00:32:57] Speaker B: Okay. Am I. Am I supposed to do something else? I guess so. [00:32:59] Speaker A: Ugh. So you're like Spiderman, but, uh, I ninja a little bit. [00:33:06] Speaker B: Okay, here we go. Thanks. You brought me a gift of doom. [00:33:13] Speaker A: It was a good random pick. [00:33:15] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, real good. I bet that was a hot seller. Switch gears back in the day. Yeah. Let's go to something new. Let's play something in your. Your era. [00:33:23] Speaker A: In my era of gaming. [00:33:24] Speaker B: Okay, we'll go back and forth. [00:33:26] Speaker A: Sure, sure. So as far as the stuff that I have that's a little bit more recent, I've got. So I had Mario wonder. I've got super Princess Peach, which is probably going to be new for you, I would imagine. [00:33:38] Speaker B: I've not played it. [00:33:39] Speaker A: And then I. Well, I have Tetris, which is, you know, Tetris. [00:33:42] Speaker B: I haven't played any of these games. [00:33:44] Speaker A: You never played Tetris? [00:33:45] Speaker B: I have played Tetris. [00:33:46] Speaker A: Okay, there you go. Let's try. [00:33:48] Speaker B: What I meant is, like, all these new games. I haven't played any of these new games. I just know Tetris is not a new game. [00:33:53] Speaker A: Right. Yeah, it's just a new iteration of. Yeah. [00:33:56] Speaker B: And that's technical over here. [00:33:58] Speaker A: Hey, look, you have to be correct when you're talking about this stuff. We're gonna get people that are very serious gamers. [00:34:04] Speaker B: You know you're not wrong about that, right? You'd be, like, less than Daniel. [00:34:07] Speaker A: Actually, technically speaking, Tetris has been around since the cold war. [00:34:12] Speaker B: Okay? And you know, the guy that invented Tetris had a cloaca. It's gonna be our new term. [00:34:19] Speaker A: It's the one thing that put him on even footing with the rest of us mortals. [00:34:23] Speaker B: Yeah, he was the. The destroyed. I can't tell you more about home. I don't want to ruin it for you. [00:34:30] Speaker A: Oh, the episode. [00:34:31] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:34:31] Speaker A: I am wearing my wild west hack and fest X Files shirt today. [00:34:35] Speaker B: Yes, you are. And it's funny, I'm wearing a shirt that I also got at Wild West Africa. [00:34:38] Speaker A: Oh, there you go. [00:34:40] Speaker B: Which is from Black Hills. [00:34:42] Speaker A: I'm starting to get excited. I know. It's still. It's not till October. [00:34:45] Speaker B: I thought black hills. I think it's black Hills. [00:34:48] Speaker A: I think you're right. I think you're right, because I'm. I thought there was another company that also did. What's the Rekka? Where it's hackerspelled backwards. That's the same brand. Okay. Okay, then, yeah, I have that one as well. Of course you do. You've got all the merch, so. I don't. [00:35:04] Speaker B: Melissa, I had to pay for this crap. [00:35:05] Speaker A: I don't remember if this is multiplayer or not. I really don't. Cause if it's not multiplayer, then that's not fun. [00:35:10] Speaker B: Unless you gotta start from the beginning, right? Is there no beginning to this game? [00:35:16] Speaker A: I mean, there is. I've just already beat all the levels, so I'm very committed to the. To the princess. I was gonna pick, like, a hard level. Okay, let's go and just have you. Yeah, yeah. [00:35:27] Speaker B: Five f's. [00:35:29] Speaker A: Five women. [00:35:29] Speaker B: Yes. That's what you get to say. F five times. [00:35:37] Speaker A: They're okay. I. I say they're hard, but, like, I. You know, you may play them and be like, this is very simple. [00:35:45] Speaker B: Do our best impression of James Rolf. [00:35:47] Speaker A: So. Huh. [00:35:48] Speaker B: He's the angry video game nerd. [00:35:50] Speaker A: Oh, is he? [00:35:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:35:51] Speaker A: Okay. I'm not familiar with his work. I know, I know. I'm familiar with game grumps, but I'm not familiar with them. So the premise of this game is that Princess Peach has to save this theater, and she has to play through these different literal stages as different characters. So she's like a cowboy in one of them, she's a mermaid in one of them. In this one, she is like a space rescue hero. I think. Okay, so I like this one. I think it's fun. [00:36:15] Speaker B: Let's see it. [00:36:16] Speaker A: But would you like to try? [00:36:18] Speaker B: I want to watch you first. [00:36:19] Speaker A: Okay. And then. Okay. All right. [00:36:20] Speaker B: Kind of get a look and feel for. [00:36:22] Speaker A: So this is one of the last levels. [00:36:24] Speaker B: Cool suit she's got, though, isn't it? [00:36:25] Speaker A: She looks like Samus a little bit. [00:36:26] Speaker B: I actually thought a little more along the lines of, like, a mega man. Yeah. [00:36:33] Speaker A: All right, so these little guys. [00:36:35] Speaker B: These guys, huh? [00:36:36] Speaker A: No, these are the good guys. These are your allies. Although they don't really much. They're kind of worthless. [00:36:40] Speaker B: I mean. [00:36:40] Speaker A: I mean, that sounds mean. Those are the bad. [00:36:42] Speaker B: They're kind of worthless, but the whole point. I like to send them in a battle. They die first. [00:36:49] Speaker A: They're. They're disposable, if you will. [00:36:51] Speaker B: Okay. Okay, I'm getting the hang of this. What's going on? [00:36:55] Speaker A: I gotta. This is just part of the gameplay. And then eventually, she'll be walking, hopefully, like normal. [00:37:00] Speaker B: So is it a platformer all the way? [00:37:02] Speaker A: Yes. Yeah, some of the different levels. Like, in one of them, you're like a patisserie chef, so you have to decorate cakes and stuff. And so it's a little bit of a different vantage. Yeah. Huh. Excuse you. Out of my way. There's a lot going on here. [00:37:18] Speaker B: Yeah, lots. [00:37:19] Speaker A: What's the game where you're a rocket ship and you have to shoot at the. Is that asteroids, or am I thinking of something else? Galaga. [00:37:24] Speaker B: Tell me what you're doing. You did not finish your sentence. You said, is that the game where you're a rocket ship and you have to shoot the. [00:37:30] Speaker A: The. Like the. Like, there's these little ships that come down and they go like. [00:37:34] Speaker B: That is Gallagher. [00:37:35] Speaker A: That's Gallagher. Okay. [00:37:38] Speaker B: I know the sound effects. Sold it for me. I knew what you were talking about. You know, now you have an asteroid, which would have been asteroids. [00:37:45] Speaker A: I am a. [00:37:46] Speaker B: Well, can you destroy the asteroids in this game? [00:37:48] Speaker A: Uh, it depends on the level. So in this case. Yeah, I just got it. [00:37:53] Speaker B: Yeah. You sacrifice one of your useless people, that's fine there. [00:37:57] Speaker A: A dime a dozen. They all look the same. Oh, sick. Okay. I don't know what I did there. I was. [00:38:06] Speaker B: What is up with these guys? [00:38:07] Speaker A: I was social engineered to buy this game, not so you. [00:38:10] Speaker B: Really. [00:38:10] Speaker A: I was. I was socially swayed to buy this game because your pressure. [00:38:14] Speaker B: Initially, I was like, somebody had the game. [00:38:17] Speaker A: I saw somebody else play it, and I was like, that looks kind of fun. I didn't get the star. Okay. [00:38:23] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:24] Speaker A: This is longer than I remember. [00:38:25] Speaker B: It's funny. I'm watching you play these games, and you're. If you're moving right along, you're very good at them. [00:38:32] Speaker A: But the second you put me in. [00:38:33] Speaker B: A retro game, I move right along. You're like, I can't get 5ft. [00:38:37] Speaker A: Yeah, exactly. Well, I still died, so there you go. [00:38:40] Speaker B: That's funny. [00:38:41] Speaker A: And I lost a lot of coins in the process. [00:38:42] Speaker B: All right, I'm ready to give a spot where you are. Oh, yeah. [00:38:45] Speaker A: So the b button will let you fire, and then the joystick on the right let you move. [00:38:51] Speaker B: Oh, so it moves her forward when she fires? [00:38:55] Speaker A: I guess I didn't notice, but you're right, it does do that. [00:38:58] Speaker B: Wow. Okay, okay, okay. I just, like, stop shooting at me. [00:39:02] Speaker A: I employ a very technical strategy of button mashing. [00:39:05] Speaker B: Yeah, but she doesn't really, like. Ooh, that was close. [00:39:09] Speaker A: Oh. So you gotta wait for his fist to come out of the force field and then punch his fist or, like, hit his arm because he's protected otherwise. [00:39:16] Speaker B: I'm trying. [00:39:18] Speaker A: Okay, well, maybe not. [00:39:19] Speaker B: That doesn't work. [00:39:20] Speaker A: Get, like. Maybe if you get, like, in front of where his fist is gonna come out, like, for. Let him punch me and, like, just fire. There you go. [00:39:27] Speaker B: That's intuitive. [00:39:30] Speaker A: Well, you keep in mind this game is probably more intended for kids, and kids are a lot smarter than we are, so. [00:39:36] Speaker B: Yeah, I can't wait till my kid goes. So I got my first fight today. Dad and I employed the stand in front of their fist. Strategy did not work out as well as I had hoped. [00:39:49] Speaker A: Okay, so now that you've beat this part of it, I think it should put you on the ground, and then you'll actually be. It'll be more like a regular platformer where you're just walking and fighting these cute little enemies. The whole. The villain of this game is called. I think her name is Madame Grape. [00:40:06] Speaker B: I think Madam Grape. [00:40:07] Speaker A: And she's like, she's not a grape. She's just purple. [00:40:10] Speaker B: Just purple. [00:40:10] Speaker A: And she's like this witch or something that. [00:40:12] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, she's a witch, all right. [00:40:15] Speaker A: She's cursed. [00:40:17] Speaker B: The doing something. Or we got, like. [00:40:18] Speaker A: It's like a little. Little cutscene, and then. Yeah, now you'll be able to move through it. [00:40:23] Speaker B: Let's make this happen. Oh, you got a little three dimensional action. [00:40:26] Speaker A: A little bit. [00:40:26] Speaker B: Yeah, you won't get past us. [00:40:29] Speaker A: They don't do much. [00:40:30] Speaker B: They won't. [00:40:31] Speaker A: They don't do much. Yeah. [00:40:32] Speaker B: Whoa. Like. Like how the guy that. What? The one in white back there is like. [00:40:42] Speaker A: You might be able to move. [00:40:43] Speaker B: Oh my God. Or something. [00:40:44] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, you gotta. You gotta hit him. [00:40:46] Speaker B: I'm not in the cutscene any longer. [00:40:48] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Seamless transition indeed. Oh, and you might be able to. You should be able to pick up the bus, I think. But I don't remember how. Okay, think you can? Yeah. And then you can walk and like throw it. I'm pretty sure. [00:41:06] Speaker B: Oh, okay, take it with me. Hey, where's my bus? [00:41:10] Speaker A: I don't remember enough about. There you go. [00:41:13] Speaker B: Picked up. Thrown. [00:41:14] Speaker A: There's several of them. [00:41:15] Speaker B: Yeah, you can use crazy. Well, they think it's a bus. It's more like a trailer. [00:41:19] Speaker A: Well, I call. Right, like a. Yeah, like a. [00:41:23] Speaker B: It's like a buses hold. [00:41:25] Speaker A: It's a cyber truck. [00:41:26] Speaker B: It's a cyber truck. Elon musk future. [00:41:28] Speaker A: All right, so if you chuck it, I actually know. Okay, this might. You might just have to run. [00:41:35] Speaker B: Yep, looks like it. Not running very fast. I can run faster than these little turds holding a bus. [00:41:41] Speaker A: Cuz you're holding. Yeah, that's why it's slowing you down. [00:41:44] Speaker B: But I'm still faster. Like I'm fast enough to get. [00:41:47] Speaker A: Yeah, you're. [00:41:48] Speaker B: Oh, want my bus? You're calling it a bus? Not a damn bus. [00:41:52] Speaker A: Your emotional support bus. [00:41:54] Speaker B: That's right. Do not pet the bus. [00:41:57] Speaker A: Okay, maybe you have to throw it. Oh, cuz you have to jump, I think over that thing. And you can't do that with a bus in your hands. [00:42:04] Speaker B: Dumb. What's the purpose of it? [00:42:07] Speaker A: Oh, oh, I think you might to pick this one up. There we go. [00:42:10] Speaker B: Oh my. [00:42:11] Speaker A: That's. That's not a bus either. [00:42:12] Speaker B: Now it's just. Look at me, I hold buses. [00:42:15] Speaker A: There you go. So now you've got a gameplay is weird. Nice. [00:42:20] Speaker B: AI generated hands on prince of speech. She had the weirdest looking fingers, but. [00:42:26] Speaker A: She'S got the right amount of fingers, probably. [00:42:28] Speaker B: She did have the right amount of fingers, but they were like all of equal length. [00:42:31] Speaker A: Does Mario have four fingers or five? Hell, find out cause Mickey's got four. But he's a mouse. I guess so. That's different. [00:42:39] Speaker B: I just watched the death battle. King Mickey versus Yoda. [00:42:44] Speaker A: King Mickey? [00:42:45] Speaker B: Yeah, from kingdom hearts. [00:42:46] Speaker A: Oh, I never played kingdom hearts. [00:42:49] Speaker B: He's got this key sword and. Yeah, Mickey took him down. [00:42:55] Speaker A: Is Mickey a bad guy? [00:42:56] Speaker B: Oh, Mickey's a good guy. They just make them fight. Doesn't it's like not good and evil. It's just there. Two people fighting. Hey. [00:43:05] Speaker A: Oh, there you go. Oh, nice. Oh, okay, so when you other turds. [00:43:10] Speaker B: I need to kill. Yeah, yeah, kill them. You guys are. [00:43:15] Speaker A: You're doing greatly useless. You haven't died. So. [00:43:21] Speaker B: Is he not dead? [00:43:23] Speaker A: He's dizzy. [00:43:25] Speaker B: I gotta give him the final punch. [00:43:28] Speaker A: So the nerd scientists are in there. [00:43:30] Speaker B: And they're watching nerd things on nerd? [00:43:33] Speaker A: Yeah, they're watching Star Trek. [00:43:34] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Not the Star Trek one where Guinan turns it and then Captain Picard shows up. [00:43:42] Speaker A: So I think. I think if you go to the. [00:43:45] Speaker B: Spotlight, I have to do something. [00:43:47] Speaker A: Yes, you do. [00:43:48] Speaker B: Jeez, you freed the game ever. [00:43:53] Speaker A: I don't remember if this is the end of the level or not. Or if there's another. There's no, like, scrolling, like, progress bar or anything. [00:43:59] Speaker B: Okay, right. And, like, I have no idea. I'm supposed to move or just stand there. [00:44:04] Speaker A: Yeah, you cannot have them right now. [00:44:06] Speaker B: I guess I'm just standing here. [00:44:08] Speaker A: Yes. [00:44:09] Speaker B: Now it's move time. No, no. [00:44:11] Speaker A: He's gonna do a little show. [00:44:13] Speaker B: The joy cons. [00:44:14] Speaker A: Oh, are they shaking? [00:44:15] Speaker B: Yes. [00:44:15] Speaker A: Okay. They're just trying to be immersive, so you might have to employ a little. [00:44:19] Speaker B: Bit of weedy, though, isn't it? Like, it barely. [00:44:23] Speaker A: It's like, oh, it's not as strong as, like, the Wii remote. [00:44:27] Speaker B: Yeah, I want the dank thing to, like, go make me throw it out of my hand, because I think. [00:44:31] Speaker A: Huh. [00:44:32] Speaker B: Getting raised. [00:44:34] Speaker A: I wonder if you can adjust that. I know you can in this game. And I have it set the full, like, full vibration, but I don't know. Oh. [00:44:46] Speaker B: Yeah. Maybe made me think of the. [00:44:48] Speaker A: Oh. Oh, you're giant now. Oh, yeah. [00:44:50] Speaker B: I'm still unmovable. I'm just. All cutscenes. [00:44:52] Speaker A: Well, here you go. So now, yeah, you gotta employ the stand in front of the fist and then punch it. Yeah. Nice. [00:45:02] Speaker B: I want you to die. [00:45:06] Speaker A: Oh, there you go. [00:45:06] Speaker B: Abdomen by his belly, and I'm just pushing buttons. I don't know if it's doing anything. [00:45:12] Speaker A: That's the strategy you use button mash. [00:45:14] Speaker B: Okay. [00:45:14] Speaker A: That's what I do. [00:45:15] Speaker B: I wish I had button masher. [00:45:17] Speaker A: I wish I had super smash brothers. I think that'd be super fun. [00:45:20] Speaker B: Isn't that where we fight each other? [00:45:21] Speaker A: Yes, that's why it would be fun. [00:45:27] Speaker B: He's exploding inside. [00:45:29] Speaker A: There you go. Most of the games I have are pretty simplistic. [00:45:36] Speaker B: I see that. [00:45:37] Speaker A: I see that because I like to turn my brain off when I game. I do enjoy a bit of Lego city undercover, but that's more involved. [00:45:43] Speaker B: I mean, is this an apt description of your gaming experience for this game? [00:45:49] Speaker A: Yes. [00:45:49] Speaker B: Yes. Just close your eyes in game. [00:45:52] Speaker A: I got this game because I thought it was cute. [00:45:54] Speaker B: Okay, awesome. This seems like a game for kids. [00:45:58] Speaker A: I think it is, emotionally. [00:45:59] Speaker B: What's funny is, is that ghouls and ghosts. Yeah, I played that when I was five. [00:46:05] Speaker A: Well, there you go. That explains why you are the way that you are. [00:46:07] Speaker B: Yeah. What it's supposed to do is put a seed of anger down inside of you so that it prime you as you become an adult, and then you just, you know, run around. [00:46:19] Speaker A: You become a rage machine. [00:46:19] Speaker B: Yesterday, she told me, so I'm going to see Deadpool tonight, right? Yeah, she said I came, and she kept telling me, you should go with Alex. My friend Alex, he's like, you should go with Alex to see Deadpool or something. Or just go do something like, eh. And Alex was like, I totally want to go see Deadpool. I'm like, all right, let's do it. So I bought the tickets, and I come inside because I was in my office, and I said, so I bought tickets. We're going to go see Deadpool tomorrow, which is today. And she's like, oh, thank goodness. [00:46:45] Speaker A: For what reason? [00:46:46] Speaker B: She said, you need to get out of the house. You're so grumpy. She's like, I've just noticed you've been really grumpy lately. [00:46:56] Speaker A: Aw. [00:46:57] Speaker B: And I'm like, getting out of the house ain't gonna make it any better. [00:46:59] Speaker A: I'm still an angry man. That's not gonna help me. [00:47:01] Speaker B: It's just the more I age, the more anchor I've become. [00:47:05] Speaker A: I was just like, I was very grumpy about everything. Very grouchy. This is the, this is kind of a, it's a one off technado. Like, it's not like our standard format. So, in theory, could just game until we died. [00:47:17] Speaker B: Let's take a break, and we'll deliberate. [00:47:18] Speaker A: We'll deliberate and see if we want. [00:47:19] Speaker B: To come back to it, see if we want to play a little more. [00:47:22] Speaker A: A little more. Finish it off. Okay. We'll give you an opportunity to take a little break, get some water, and recover from the atrocity you just witnessed. And we'll be back with more Technato gaming edition. Anthony, what are we going to be talking about? [00:47:35] Speaker B: We are talking about our newest and most excellent cloud course. This course really does an amazing job of taking the learner from the very fundamental aspects of cloud and then walking them through some of the more advanced topics. They're going to learn about how to secure the cloud, how to optimize the cloud, how to save costs with the cloud. So this is not a course with complete bias to AWS or Google Cloud platform or Microsoft Azure. We breathe life into this material by doing demonstrations across all of the big three cloud vendors. [00:48:19] Speaker A: We have a lot of fun in cloud and we know that you will too. So come check it out. Welcome back. Thanks for sticking with us through that break. Hopefully you are enjoying this special edition of Tech Nado. If you are, leave us a like and comment below what you liked, what you didn't like, and if you want us to do this again in the future, because I'm enjoying it, so I would be happy to do this again and subscribe so you never miss an episode in the future. Usually this is not our standard fare. Usually we're all about like tech and security news, just what's going on in the world today. We do touch on gaming occasionally, especially if it's like has to do with security. So check out the other episodes, see if you like them or not. But we are going to finish this off with one final game. [00:49:01] Speaker B: I have ruled them all. [00:49:02] Speaker A: One game to rule them all. [00:49:03] Speaker B: I have darkness behind them. [00:49:05] Speaker A: Uh huh. What? [00:49:06] Speaker B: Oh, not a lord of the Rings fan, are we? [00:49:08] Speaker A: Well, don't out me like that. [00:49:10] Speaker B: I love that. Yes, you have just insulted many of our viewers. [00:49:15] Speaker A: Yeah, well that's. I probably do that unintentionally all the time, so I'm sorry, but yeah, no, it's been a while, so I let Daniel. [00:49:22] Speaker B: Oh, you're a poser. I got it. [00:49:25] Speaker A: Basically. Yeah. I kind of have to be to work here. Like, you guys make references all the time that I'm just like, oh yeah. And then I'm googling it like 2 seconds later. I have let Daniel select a game from. I believe this is the. This is game Boy. No emulator. We are going to go ahead and give f zero maximum velocity a shot. [00:49:41] Speaker B: By we, we mean she, because I've never played this. [00:49:44] Speaker A: This is new to me. [00:49:45] Speaker B: This is our final showdown. [00:49:47] Speaker A: The extent of my knowledge about this game is that it has captain Falcon in it. [00:49:50] Speaker B: It's a racing game. [00:49:51] Speaker A: And the only reason I know about captain Falcon is because he is in super smash brothers. [00:49:55] Speaker B: So is a racing game set in the distant future, I assume in space and. No, you're on planets. [00:50:04] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [00:50:05] Speaker B: At least in the original episode, I've never actually played maximum velocity. Oh. [00:50:09] Speaker A: So it might be a little different. [00:50:10] Speaker B: So who knows where they've stuck you? [00:50:12] Speaker A: Okay. [00:50:13] Speaker B: But yeah, and you go really fast. And you touch the sides of the track and you get shocked. [00:50:18] Speaker A: Okay. That's good to know. [00:50:19] Speaker B: And after so much power depletes, you explode. [00:50:24] Speaker A: Okay. [00:50:25] Speaker B: There will be also others in the game with you. Not multiplayer, but, like, bots or whatever? [00:50:32] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:50:33] Speaker B: Yes. NPC's, you know, other. Other racers, there's also just regular. NPC's just taking up track room. [00:50:40] Speaker A: Oh, sick. Okay. [00:50:41] Speaker B: And they. If they're doing anything at all, it's passive aggressively aiming for you. [00:50:47] Speaker A: So if I hit them, do I lose? [00:50:49] Speaker B: Like, it just kind of bumps you around? You'll lose speed, you'll lose. It's an obstacle. [00:50:53] Speaker A: Okay, so I won't just, like, blow through them. It'll be. It'll affect my time. Okay. [00:50:57] Speaker B: Yes. [00:50:57] Speaker A: Gotcha. But is it. Other than that, is it just, like, finish the fastest? [00:51:00] Speaker B: Kind of like, you're on number one, right? You gotta be in the top x amount so that you can continue. [00:51:04] Speaker A: Okay. [00:51:05] Speaker B: Right. You want to be in the top three. [00:51:07] Speaker A: That makes sense. Let's give it a shot. [00:51:10] Speaker B: The name. I go with. The obligatory butthole. I'm gonna go with my character or turd. I name it butthole or turtle. [00:51:19] Speaker A: We will split the difference and go with Pookie because it has poo in it. [00:51:22] Speaker B: Okay? [00:51:23] Speaker A: That will make you happy. [00:51:24] Speaker B: Judges. Judges will allow Pookie. [00:51:26] Speaker A: That's me. All right, so I'm Pookie. Let's go grand prix. [00:51:30] Speaker B: Yeah. Hell, yeah. [00:51:31] Speaker A: Okay. [00:51:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:51:32] Speaker A: That's all you're gonna get, hot violet. All right. Fireball. JB, Crystal. [00:51:37] Speaker B: That's a blue one is Captain Falcon, if that's what you're looking. [00:51:41] Speaker A: Oh, really? Okay, that's not. [00:51:43] Speaker B: That's perfect. [00:51:43] Speaker A: I do kind of like Captain Falcone. [00:51:44] Speaker B: Or is that the only ones they've given you? [00:51:46] Speaker A: Those four are the ones I get, yeah. [00:51:48] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Then go buck wild. So I don't know who Captain Falcon is. I don't even what whip is his. [00:51:54] Speaker A: Well, I see. And it gives me, like, stats and stuff. But see, that's. I'm not even gonna bother with that. I'll be the hot violet because that is a goofy ass name for a car. [00:52:02] Speaker B: Go, Bishop, man. No, go. Yeah. Full on Bishop. Yeah, go. [00:52:05] Speaker A: Oh, so that means it's expert God. Okay, great. Well, shiver me timbers. Okay. Tightrope circuit in Bianca City. Okay. [00:52:16] Speaker B: All right, so you see the glowing orbs next to you? [00:52:19] Speaker A: I do. [00:52:19] Speaker B: They will hurt you. There is a area of the track for recharging your shields. [00:52:25] Speaker A: Okay, it's a to go. [00:52:27] Speaker B: That would be that green strip right there. [00:52:28] Speaker A: Sick. Okay. Oh. All right. That was close. Oh, shit. Okay. Sorry. [00:52:33] Speaker B: Yeah, sorry. Yeah, grandma. Good one. Right now. [00:52:39] Speaker A: She'S gonna watch this and be like, Sophie, Sophia, control yourself. [00:52:44] Speaker B: You brought shame on the name of goodwill. [00:52:46] Speaker A: All right, well, I'm definitely. Good. Lord, I feel like a ping pong ball. I'm definitely not gonna win. I'm in 11th place. [00:52:53] Speaker B: You also have turbo boosts. Well, I'm thinking after you cross the lap line, you'll get a turbo boost and then you can use it. [00:53:00] Speaker A: I think it's hard enough for me to. Am I supposed to be drifting? What's. [00:53:05] Speaker B: You're in almost last place. [00:53:07] Speaker A: I think I might be in last place. 14 out of ten. [00:53:09] Speaker B: Power is way down. [00:53:13] Speaker A: Oh, so that's what that flashing means. My power is down. I'm going to die. I'm going to die. Awesome, awesome, awesome. I'm so glad. [00:53:22] Speaker B: I don't know if you know this, but the objective is to not hit the side look of the thing there, not use them as. Oh, you didn't explode? Or are you gonna. [00:53:34] Speaker A: I lost. [00:53:35] Speaker B: You lost? [00:53:36] Speaker A: I lost. [00:53:36] Speaker B: Maybe you came in such 20, like, there's no possible way you could have finished. [00:53:45] Speaker A: Okay, well, let's try this again then. It's to be fair, this is. It's the expert level, and I have not touched this ever, so this is. [00:53:54] Speaker B: How hard is it? You hit go, you go straight, you. [00:53:56] Speaker A: Turn left, obviously pretty hard. So. Okay, what I think what I need to do, maybe, is. There you go. [00:54:04] Speaker B: You don't need to be in there yet. You don't have any, like, decreased. [00:54:07] Speaker A: All right, well, I just. I like trying to get up. Reserves. [00:54:10] Speaker B: There's no reserves. Stay away from me. [00:54:12] Speaker A: Why am I floating, though? Like, there's. [00:54:14] Speaker B: There's one version of this where those are magnetized and it's pulling you into it. [00:54:18] Speaker A: There's no, like. Like. Okay, even if I stop pressing the a button, I keep gliding. [00:54:24] Speaker B: Because you are a hovercraft and you have momentum. Inertia has. [00:54:28] Speaker A: There's no, like. There's no tread or anything. There's no, like. [00:54:30] Speaker B: You have to just go. [00:54:32] Speaker A: Sick. Okay, I'm on my way to Toshi station. Depends, Howard. [00:54:37] Speaker B: Game you can play? [00:54:39] Speaker A: Evidently. Okay, I went a little stretch without touching the wall. [00:54:41] Speaker B: You actually lapped. [00:54:42] Speaker A: I'm in 13th place. [00:54:45] Speaker B: There you go. Stand green. Okay, go. Just go. [00:54:49] Speaker A: All right, all right, all right. I'm doing better. I'm doing better. [00:54:51] Speaker B: Just follow that guy. Use him as a guide of where you're going. Now, I will give you some credit. Because there is some lag. [00:54:58] Speaker A: That's true. [00:54:59] Speaker B: Most retro games are very sensitive to timing. [00:55:03] Speaker A: Oh, God. That was so bad. That was so bad. I just. It's like I was trying to collect the orbs. [00:55:10] Speaker B: The NPC's won't let me be. Oh. What? [00:55:14] Speaker A: Huh? [00:55:14] Speaker B: Again? You're in 20th place. [00:55:16] Speaker A: No way, dude. Okay, so that means, like, not only was I in last, but then they started laughing. Me. [00:55:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:20] Speaker A: Okay. [00:55:21] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:55:23] Speaker A: Well, this is great. [00:55:23] Speaker B: Did you have fun? Is this your new fave? [00:55:25] Speaker A: This is my new favorite. Did you want to give it a go or are you just enjoying if. [00:55:30] Speaker B: I go and suck that, you get out? Like. [00:55:33] Speaker A: Okay, so you want to avoid that? [00:55:35] Speaker B: Well, I mean, I just want to make you look bad. [00:55:37] Speaker A: Okay. Sick. Should I try it again or should I quit while I'm ahead? Well, I'm behind. [00:55:40] Speaker B: That's on you. [00:55:41] Speaker A: I'll go one more time. I'll go one more. [00:55:42] Speaker B: Don't let the game punk you out like that. [00:55:44] Speaker A: And then we'll call it, you know. [00:55:45] Speaker B: Because otherwise, holding the game's belt up his pocket or anything like that, strolling around the prison yard. [00:55:52] Speaker A: That's true. Yeah, that's true. All right. Hi. Nice. Okay. All right. [00:55:59] Speaker B: Okay. Okay. It's not nice. All right, sure, you're fine. You're still good. Just. Just go. Just keep that button mashed and disappear. You gotta get your spidey sense because of lag, bro. [00:56:15] Speaker A: I don't even have regular sense, much less any kind of heightened. [00:56:19] Speaker B: You good? You good? [00:56:21] Speaker A: I'm not in last. [00:56:22] Speaker B: Doing all right. You doing all right? [00:56:23] Speaker A: Speaking too soon. [00:56:25] Speaker B: Come on, do the little motion. [00:56:28] Speaker A: I feel very bad for our audio listeners because it's just all they. All they can hear is just me going like, dang it, every couple of minutes. [00:56:37] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, you're actually getting the hang of it now. You were a bit. Yeah, you're not ranked out. [00:56:43] Speaker A: Can't speak too soon. [00:56:43] Speaker B: Are warning you, though, that you. [00:56:46] Speaker A: Oh, is that what that beeping is? [00:56:48] Speaker B: I believe that's what that is. [00:56:49] Speaker A: That's them telling me you're a failure. You're a failure. You're a failure. [00:56:52] Speaker B: Here's the thing. [00:56:53] Speaker A: You will never be in. [00:56:54] Speaker B: A mother and father have disowned you because of how poorly you are doing. [00:56:59] Speaker A: Did you see that girl? I want to say she's Team USA, but she's been to the Olympics like four times. [00:57:06] Speaker B: Ranked out. [00:57:06] Speaker A: Huh? But I. But I. [00:57:10] Speaker B: You ranked out. All right, well, that was fun. [00:57:16] Speaker A: I'm disappointed in myself. [00:57:17] Speaker B: I really get the idea of twitch streaming at this point. Makes sense. [00:57:21] Speaker A: It makes sense to you now? Well, that was great. [00:57:23] Speaker B: It seems like to me. Here's my take. We're done with games. [00:57:26] Speaker A: We're done with games. [00:57:27] Speaker B: Here's my take. Kind of parachuting into modern gaming is. They're super easy. At least the ones you play are, comparatively. Yeah, if there's some wicked difficult games out there and. No, I gamed when. When there were, you know, multiplayer online, you know, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six and all that stuff. And those can. Those. I definitely have a layer of difficulty to them because you're playing actual people and of course cheats come into play, especially in the multiplayer, which is why I typically stuck to the actual game. [00:58:02] Speaker A: Right, right. Like the campaign mode. Yeah. [00:58:04] Speaker B: But it just seems like now the game is developed to keep you going. Yeah, don't stop. You'll get to the next thing. Very low bar. [00:58:14] Speaker A: They want it to be addictive, I'm sure. [00:58:16] Speaker B: Well, that doesn't work for me. It just makes me throw the Joy con across it and go, piece of shit. And like, this isn't fun. [00:58:22] Speaker A: Yeah. So it's. It's. You gotta strike a balance. [00:58:27] Speaker B: That's fun for you. [00:58:29] Speaker A: Like what, having it be difficult. [00:58:30] Speaker B: No, to have it be easy. [00:58:34] Speaker A: I think. No, I think it depends on the game because there are definitely certain games where it's like, okay, okay. That makes sense that the game, like Crash Bandicoot. Okay, okay. It's fun. [00:58:45] Speaker B: It is fun. [00:58:45] Speaker A: And it. Initially it's like, okay, it's pretty simple. [00:58:47] Speaker B: Right. [00:58:47] Speaker A: And the further in you get, it's like. It's a lot, like you said a lot about timing. And after playing through the same level however many times and getting stuck on the same part about 50 times, I do get to a point where I'm like, I have to step away. Like, I can't. And maybe I come back to it much later. So I think it has. There's a balance. It's got to be. [00:59:05] Speaker B: Question becomes a, is the game too hard for everyone or is the game too hard for you? [00:59:09] Speaker A: Am I just dumb? [00:59:10] Speaker B: Right. Or you just haven't developed a skill? [00:59:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:59:13] Speaker B: You know, that's the. I think for me, that's where I want the game to be. I want the game to be pushing my skill level. [00:59:22] Speaker A: Right. [00:59:22] Speaker B: Not so damn difficult that you can't play. So obviously, like ghosts and ghouls or ghouls and ghosts was. It's ridiculously hard. And there's some entertainment value to that where you're just like, you and your friends just going as far as you can and laughing at each other. So that has entertainment value. But if I bought that game was like, I want to beat it. Yeah, I probably stick my fist to the screen. I literally have. Back when we had crts, I punched my screen and then permanently had, like, a green fist in the middle of it after that. That's how hard I hit it. [00:59:56] Speaker A: The Hulk trademark. [00:59:57] Speaker B: I was like. Because some games, they just make it like, yes, this is not beatable. [01:00:04] Speaker A: Sure. [01:00:04] Speaker B: But is it just not beatable by. [01:00:06] Speaker A: Me or in general? Is it just intentionally almost impossible? [01:00:09] Speaker B: And you can get online and you can definitely find those games that are. Nobody is happy. [01:00:15] Speaker A: Right, right. Yeah. [01:00:16] Speaker B: This game is just a middle finger. [01:00:19] Speaker A: Or, like certain levels where people will be like, well, yeah, the game's great, but you get to this level and. [01:00:22] Speaker B: It'S like the middle fingers go up. Was it Nintendo power or game fan? Back when we had magazines, right? [01:00:30] Speaker A: Yeah, right. [01:00:31] Speaker B: There was this. I forget which game it was, but it was a survival guide to this game. And I said, first thing you have to do is collect all the items you need to survive playing this game. And one of them was a pillow to punch an extra controller for when you destroy your controller. Right. It was stuff like that. It was so funny. [01:00:51] Speaker A: Just accept. [01:00:52] Speaker B: Right, that this is going to drive you mad. [01:00:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:00:56] Speaker B: And I can't tell you how many times I got in trouble with my parents. It probably, ironically enough, the game that drove me most insane and had me off the handle. I was like a violent drunk. Like, playing this game. I had a stream of obscenities flowing from my skull cave. My brother is on the floor in stitches. Oh, I'm sure he is dying laughing. And it was a bible game. [01:01:36] Speaker A: A bible game. [01:01:38] Speaker B: A bible game. [01:01:39] Speaker A: So it's like biblical stories or your. [01:01:41] Speaker B: So I forget the name of it. But you had, like, it was like three games in one. [01:01:47] Speaker A: Okay. [01:01:47] Speaker B: You had Moses, and Moses had to, like, bible adventures, I believe it was called Bible adventures when it comes to me. Moses had to find all the animals and put them in the ark, which was kind of not bad, actually. [01:01:58] Speaker A: That was a decent Noah. [01:01:59] Speaker B: Yeah. And then there was. Was it Abraham or something? It'd be Abraham. And you were running around. I forget. [01:02:06] Speaker A: Sacrificing your son. [01:02:07] Speaker B: I don't know what you were doing. I forget. And then the one. David and Goliath. Oh, to this day, having, like, flashbacks. This is my personal nom. Right. Where you had to climb. I think I beat the first stage. You were picking up sheep and doing something with sheep. [01:02:30] Speaker A: Okay. [01:02:31] Speaker B: And I beat that first stage, and I got to the second stage where you had to go fight Goliath. But how do you think that that stage would go if you were developing a David and Goliath game? Tell me the boss stage, how you've got it. [01:02:47] Speaker A: I feel like, well, Goliath would be like the boss that you have to be, right? [01:02:49] Speaker B: Absolutely. [01:02:50] Speaker A: In this story, you have like, a little sling, right? [01:02:52] Speaker B: You do? Yes. [01:02:53] Speaker A: So I feel like the way I would construct it would probably be like, maybe you're having to jump around the stage and, like, pick up rocks or something for your sling. [01:02:59] Speaker B: Yeah. Makes sense. [01:02:59] Speaker A: And then you, like, charge up and launch it and hit Goliath. And after you hit him, either it's like a timing thing where you got to time it to where he's like weak or whatever, or it's like however many times you can hit him in a row and then he goes down. [01:03:10] Speaker B: Now this is the era of platforming games, right? Platformer. So how you win is you have to climb a hillside, bouncing from ledge to ledge all the while Goliath is at the very tip top of this. Right? [01:03:30] Speaker A: Like Donkey Kong. [01:03:31] Speaker B: Like Donkey Kong. And the some bitch is throwing boulders at you. [01:03:37] Speaker A: That's not the story at all. [01:03:38] Speaker B: You're raining them down and you're like, down to the bottom. I was like, you know, I'm no Bible scholar. [01:03:54] Speaker A: I don't remember that. [01:03:55] Speaker B: I do not recall ever hearing Goliath at the top of a hill. [01:04:02] Speaker A: And so the Lord said to David, oh, my word. [01:04:05] Speaker B: I was so enraged. I was like twelve when I played that game. [01:04:09] Speaker A: So that's about right. Yeah. You know, I'll have to look into that, see if there's any way I can emulate that because, oh, I've got it on emulator. [01:04:15] Speaker B: I know. [01:04:16] Speaker A: Do you really? [01:04:16] Speaker B: Yeah. Because my kids were playing the, they were like, look at that. They got Noah's ark. I was like, oh, yeah, I know that game. [01:04:25] Speaker A: Do yourselves a favor and quit. [01:04:26] Speaker B: Do not put it on David and Goliath if you wish to. And I was just getting trouble for. [01:04:31] Speaker A: You know, cursing at the Bible game. [01:04:34] Speaker B: Scream. Yeah. My mom would be like, well, you're done with this. She would just run over and take my Nintendo, put it in the closet. [01:04:40] Speaker A: You can have this back when you learn to control yourself. [01:04:42] Speaker B: Correct. You're a weak. We called it. My mom called it restriction. You're on restriction. [01:04:47] Speaker A: Yeah, you're on restriction. That's how it was in my house. You would lose access to games or whatever. Yeah. [01:04:52] Speaker B: You're restricted from tv and Nintendo. And I was like, mom, it's not fair. [01:04:58] Speaker A: Freaking goliath. [01:05:00] Speaker B: Come on. [01:05:02] Speaker A: Well, it's good to know that you had your fair share of struggles against these kind of games. [01:05:05] Speaker B: I did, but it made us better. [01:05:07] Speaker A: Yeah, right. [01:05:07] Speaker B: Character building struggle. It's. It's the rough spots in life that buff you into a diamond. Yeah, right. [01:05:14] Speaker A: That's fair. [01:05:15] Speaker B: I got as far as cubic zirconia. [01:05:19] Speaker A: Yeah, you're pyrite or whatever. As opposed to real gold. [01:05:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:22] Speaker A: Yeah, that makes sense. Well, maybe next time we do this, maybe it was fun. Maybe we'll pick, like, a long form game or something and play through a stage or something like that. That might be kind of fun. [01:05:31] Speaker B: Might be a good idea if we. [01:05:33] Speaker A: Plan for it, you know? Yeah, if that's something. That sound. [01:05:35] Speaker B: What'd you say, Christian? Elden rings. [01:05:38] Speaker A: Elden ring. Okay. Is that the one that everybody's getting mad about recently because there was some new DLC that got released? I can't remember. That was Elden ring or Elder Scrolls. [01:05:46] Speaker B: Is that on the switch? [01:05:48] Speaker A: I. I don't know. [01:05:50] Speaker B: We'll find a way. [01:05:51] Speaker A: Christian wants us to play Elden ring. [01:05:52] Speaker B: So, like, can we get it in the budget for Xbox series, Brad? [01:05:55] Speaker A: Can we? Well, if this is something that you enjoyed, if you. If you like the gaming edition, let us know. And this may be something that we do again in the future. There are always weeks where it's like, you know, maybe Daniel's out on vacation or I'm gone or whatever. [01:06:06] Speaker B: Maybe replacing her switch. [01:06:07] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm smashing things. [01:06:08] Speaker B: Already got a piece of tape over it. [01:06:10] Speaker A: I have to push it down to get it. [01:06:12] Speaker B: You know why? Because she's at home going, stupid game. [01:06:15] Speaker A: I play Lego city undercover, and I get angry. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, yes, we would appreciate any suggestions in the future for if you like this kind of thing, what games you want to see. [01:06:22] Speaker B: Yeah. Because every now and then we're going to run into this where we have to have, like, a little break or just, hey, let's do that. [01:06:28] Speaker A: Yeah, let's just do for funsies. So let us know what you think. We love to hear your input, but otherwise, we are going to call it. There has almost 90 minutes of gaming. Hopefully that was enough. Thank you, Daniel, for being willing to engage in this experiment with us. [01:06:40] Speaker B: I had a great time, and as. [01:06:42] Speaker A: You'Re watching this, I will be an ant. So I will not be in the office. Hope that you have as good of a week as I'm planning on having. I'm very excited. I'm so excited to. To go and enjoy some weird kind. [01:06:50] Speaker B: Of, like, I'm turning into an ant. Oh. [01:06:53] Speaker A: Oh, an aunt. Sorry. Sorry. I'm gonna be. [01:06:55] Speaker B: No, I say ants as well. It's just funny. [01:06:57] Speaker A: Well, thank you for that. My morale is decreasing by the second. Awesome. And thank you, Christian, of course, for all of your help. We hope you enjoyed. We will see you. I guess it'll be next week here on Technado. [01:07:08] Speaker B: Damn you, Goliath. [01:07:10] Speaker A: Thanks for watching.
